MYCELIUM RESEARCH
MYCELIUM RESEARCH

At the intersection of biology and materials science, mushrooms are emerging as a promising focus of study.  The mushroom's root structure (mycelium) is a renewable, biodegradable and fast growing material that eats plant waste and creates strong and durable products.

We undertook a study of how mycelium interacts with man-made structural materials to learn more about its properties and its potential use in construction, manufacturing and other product applications.
