Mycelium Research

Fungi are increasingly recognized as a promising focus of study in a variety of fields, including materials science.  The mushroom's root structure (mycelium) is a renewable, biodegradable and fast growing material that eats plant waste and is capable of creating strong and durable mass.

We conducted a study that explored growing mycelium in combination with some commonly used construction products. Our findings are open source and available here as a free PDF download.
